The music is top notch on a Saturday night. Expect a bar that's been around for almost 100 years as it was established in 1924. Single stall bathrooms and long thin rooms and where they stack the tables together....it's like sardines. Claustrophobia will set in. A local tip Call early to get a table in the main music room or you might be stuck in the smoking/bar area dodging darts and pool cues. Yet, the nights my group of four have gone everyone around us was very accommodating to get in and out to dance or get drinks. Believe me...the music is worth it! Last night when we went to hear the bands, NPR was doing a review along with other radio stations. Great selection of beers and a full bar for mixed drinks. The staff was friendly from the woman clearing table tops of empties to the pair of bartenders and bouncers. Street parking only and expect to walk blocks. The exterior is the epitome of a "neighborhood" bar as it is attached to a house. Eclectic crowd of young and younger, with all types of people. Come as you are or get dressed up....it's all good.

Do not just drive by this gem. This historic bar has the right kind of dive vibe. Tiny from the front, the bar area leads to a dance hall with great acoustics. It has not changed since the 1930s and it is covered with pictures and signatures from many Blues greats. The staff was welcoming and the owner has great stories about the bar's family history.

Fun spot. The age of the building is very well kept and the music is also a real treat. If going to listen to the live music call ahead to make a reservation. There is a pool table in the bar area, that always seems to have a challenge going on. During the live music there is a cover charge to see the entertainment that is housed in the rear of the building. Otherwise the bar and pool table area are free.

Great blues spot! really gives you the down home blues down south feel here in the Midwest.. Everyone is friendly also love that there's live blues music from time to time and no one minds if you want to get out on the floor and "cut a rug” or "slo drag" to a tune or two ...

Historical and epic place to see shows. Love this place just for the atmosphere. So crowded usually lots of standing. Sit along the perimeter so you can see the stage. Saw some top Blues and Jazz musicians here.

Good single craft bottle selection. Slow overall on most night. But when there is a show, wow. Used to be a speak easy and the hidden room is a stage. National level blues here, honestly. Not all the time but check the schedule. I've talked with the bartender and the 93 yr old woman who's family has been running it. A must for music fans if you can catch a show.
